Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Linceas is a Lowbytes app that gathers public information about a home and helps you organise what you see during viewings. This policy explains what data is processed, where it stays, and who it is shared with.

1. No account required

Linceas has no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for your name, phone number or a password, and we do not build a user profile.

2. What never leaves your device

Everything you capture during a viewing —photos, video, audio recordings, transcripts and notes— is stored only in your phone's local storage. It is not uploaded to our servers: the app has no feature that sends it.

Speech transcription and image recognition run on the device itself, using the operating system's own capabilities. Audio is not sent to any transcription service.

If you use your system backup (iCloud or Google), that local data may be included in it depending on your device settings. Such a backup is governed by Apple's or Google's terms, not ours.

3. What is sent to our servers

Building a property file means querying public records, so we send:

  • The address, coordinates or listing link of the property you are looking at, to locate it in the land registry.
  • Your email address, only if you order a paid file: it is how the link to the report reaches you.
  • Minimal technical data inherent to any connection (IP address, device type), needed to provide the service and protect it from abuse.

A property address can be personal data when it is your home or someone else's. We treat it as such.

The report PDF is served from an authenticated, revocable link; it is not published at any address reachable without it.

4. Permissions the app requests

  • Camera and microphone: to capture photos, video and audio during a viewing. Only when you start it.
  • Location: to place the property you are visiting and to search by coordinates.
  • Calendar: only if you use the schedule-a-viewing feature, to create that event.
  • Notifications: to tell you when a file is ready.

All are optional: you can decline them and still use the rest of the app, and revoke them at any time in your system settings.

5. Who data is shared with

We do not sell data and do not share it for advertising. We work with these providers:

  • Apple App Store and Google Play: process payments. We never see or store your card details.
  • RevenueCat: manages in-app purchase state.
  • Resend and Amazon SES: send the report's transactional email.
  • The Spanish Land Registry: when you order the legal section, an official extract for the property is requested.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

The property data we look up comes from official public sources — the Spanish land registry (Catastro), the National Geographic Institute, INE, MITMA, municipal planning and OpenStreetMap — which we query ourselves, without sending them anything about you.

6. Analytics

The app contains no third-party analytics, telemetry or crash reporting. There is no Google Analytics, no Firebase, and no equivalent SDK.

7. How long data is kept

Reports and the data attached to an order are kept while the report remains available to you and for as long as we may need to handle a claim. Proof of purchase is kept for the periods required by tax and commercial law.

8. Your rights

You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability by writing to support@lowbytes.com. To delete the data attached to a report, see the deletion instructions.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

9. Children

Linceas is aimed at adults considering a home purchase. It is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and say so in the app.
